Meaning of Dreams
The meaning of dreams has been a subject of interest for decades
ever since Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung came out with their differing
theories. Man has been intrigued by the meaning of dreams since
time began and early man would draw imaginative images on cave
walls that could not exist in reality.
The meaning of dreams have intrigued modern man just as they
had early man. But, what do all the symbols, people, being, ghosts,
plot and subplots of dreams mean? That of course is question of
which the answer is often open for interpretation. For instance
a ghost in a dream could mean impending doom or a positive transitional
experience.
Often the meaning of dreams is all about the context. Images,
symbols and feeling in context with everything else that is happening
must be sorted out. Many experts recommend keeping a dream journal
by the bed so that when one awakens one can record in detail the
dream.
By getting a fresh take on the dream by writing it down immediately
one can often later decipher the meaning of dreams. Often plots
will repeat with different characters but the themes will remain
constant.
For example a chasing dream is usually about some form of anxiety
that a person needs to deal with and resolve. The characters and
plots could be different from night to night but the theme of
being chased will remain a constant part of the dream.
Oftentimes symbols appear in dreams as well. These also need
to be taken in context with the rest of the goings on plus the
dreamer's belief system. For instance Christian symbols are common
for those of that particular faith where those of other religions
may experience different symbols.
When it comes to the meaning of dreams the most important aspect
is just to keep at it. Keep deciphering, writing, analyzing and
comparing one set of dreams to the next and its connection to
present day life. Eventually, you'll crack the code and a whole
new awareness will open up for you.
